A team and community working for digital accessibility

Our mission

Accessibility is a right, not a privilege.

We believe websites, apps and documents should work for everyone — including people who use screen readers, magnification, a keyboard or plain language. Here we explain why we exist and how we want to get there.

Our mission

We remove barriers that shut people out of the digital world.

Dostępny Internet works for digital accessibility. We bring together the experience of people with disabilities and older people with the know-how of designers, developers and content editors.

We want accessibility to be a natural part of building digital services — from the first sketch to everyday content updates — rather than a fix applied at the very end.

Goals

What we are aiming for.

Our goals set the direction for everything we do — from audits and education to conversations with people who face barriers every day.

  • Fewer barriers in digital services

We help organisations find and remove barriers in websites, apps and documents.

  • Knowledge for every team

We create materials, training and events that turn accessibility into everyday practice.

  • The voice of users

We involve people who use assistive technologies in testing, consultations and design.

  • Public awareness

We show that digital exclusion can affect anyone and that it can be effectively prevented.

  • Cross-sector cooperation

We bring public administration, business, universities and civil society together around shared standards.

  • Lasting change

We help organisations keep their services accessible after launch — through monitoring, retests and training.

Theory of change

How we make the internet better.

Change does not end with a single audit. We work on several levels at once — from a specific website to the standards of the whole industry. We will describe the results of our work in our reports — based on verifiable data only.

  1. Problem

Many digital services still exclude people with disabilities, older people and everyone who uses the internet differently from the “typical” user.

  2. Activities

Audits and consultations, training, educational materials, events and testing with assistive technology users.

  3. Outcomes

Teams know how to design and maintain accessible products, and organisations remove barriers and verify the results with retests.

  4. Impact

More people can get things done, shop, learn and work online on their own.

Transparency

We work in the open.

We publish documents that let you check who we are, how we work and how we use our funds. They will be available in accessible formats — as an HTML page or an accessible PDF.
